On the hunt for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst in Centurion!
Duties & Responsibilities
Youll play a critical role in protecting systems data and infrastructure across a dynamic and security-conscious environment.

Duties:
- Monitor security tools logs and alerts to identify assess and escalate security events and potential incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assist in remediating identified risks.
- Support in the maintenance and improvement of security operations processes controls and documentation.
- Assist with incident response activities including analysis containment and resolution under senior guidance.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of cyber threats attack techniques and industry trends.
- Participate in risk assessments audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist in enforcing security policies standards and procedures across the organisation.
- Support user awareness training and contribute to a culture of cyber vigilance.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Science Business Analytics or a related field.
- Security or other entry-level cyber security certification (advantageous).
- Relevant industry training or bootcamps in penetration testing threat analysis or network security (beneficial).
Experience:
- 0 2 years experience in an information security or IT support role.
- Internship or hands-on project experience with security tools (e.g. SIEM firewalls endpoint protection) is advantageous.
- Exposure to Windows and Linux server environments and basic networking concepts.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals including malware phishing firewalls and encryption.
- Basic knowledge of common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and risk mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with log analysis intrusion detection or vulnerability scanning tools.
- Ability to analyse and solve technical problems with accuracy and urgency.
- Keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and analysis.
- Strong communication skills - able to explain technical concepts in a clear accessible manner.
- Self-driven and eager to learn from senior team members in a collaborative setting.
- Integrity discretion and a commitment to confidentiality and compliance.
