Position: QA Tester
Location: Bellville South
Job Purpose
The QA Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality functionality and stability of ERPrelated software modules through both manual and automated testing. The role is critical in maintaining high standards across internal platforms such as Microsoft Business Central and integrated systems such as a web portal and powerbi reports. The QA Tester will play a vital role in building and executing robust automated test suites ensuring minimal defects in production and supporting continuous improvement in development cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse business and technical requirements to create detailed test plans
Design implement and maintain automated test scripts using tools compatible with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other web interfaces
Conduct functional integration regression and system testing on new features enhancements and bug fixes.
Identify document and track software defects using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Validate data flows between ERP module and external applications such as Datawarehouse Powerbi and web portal.
Collaborate with developers consultants and product owners in Agile teams to ensure quality standards.
Set up test environments for Business Central extensions APIs and integrations.
Ensure test automation is embedded in the CI/CD pipeline for consistent test execution.
Continuously evaluate test automation coverage and suggest improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies and testing tools.
Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting tools (e.g. Playwright Selenium AL test tools).
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and its development/test ecosystem.
Working knowledge of APIs web services and integrations in ERP contexts.
Ability to write reusable scalable and maintainable automated tests.
Excellent problemsolving and documentation skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
Degree or diploma in Computer Science Information Systems will be advantageous.
35 years of experience in QA roles with ERP or business systems.
Handson experience in testing Microsoft Business Central (preferably ALbased extensions) will be beneficial.
Familiarity with automation tools such as Power Automate Selenium or custom frameworks for BC.
ISTQB Certification (preferred).
Experience in logistics or supply chain systems is an advantage.
Success Indicators
Automated tests consistently catch defects before production.
Minimal disruption after ERP upgrades or deployments.
Clear and actionable bug reports with rapid turnaround for fixes.
Close collaboration with developers BAs and consultants to improve system quality.
Continuous expansion of automated test coverage across systems.
