About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst youll work across key business domains including Payments Customer and Product. You will lead the extraction integration and transformation of largescale datasets while managing critical exposure to Financial Crime (FinCrime). This is a handson technical role with a strategic edge perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of data security and innovation.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract model and manipulate data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Build review and enhance data systems and pipelines for improved efficiency and reliability
  • Respond to datarelated queries and provide expertlevel support to various business units
  • Conduct data mapping and modelling to ensure accurate integration across systems
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to FinCrime exposure
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams in Payments Customer and Product domains
  • Communicate findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance and security protocols

Key Skills & Experience

  • 5 years experience in a senior data or analytics role within the financial services sector
  • Proven expertise in SQL Python and data warehousing
  • Strong experience in data modelling mapping and systems enhancement
  • Ability to manage and extract data from complex largescale environments
  • Excellent understanding of FinCrime risks and mitigation strategies
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving and stakeholder management capabilities

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in business, Analytics, IT, or a related field. Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in analytics, business-IT liaison roles, or a similar field. Proven experience in data management, data governance, and project management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView). Strong knowledge of data processes, data modeling, and predictive analytics. Expertise in data governance and ensuring data quality standards. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and IT infrastructure for hosting and managing data environments. Financial Management: Experience managing Capex and Opex for analytics projects. Strong skills in reviewing vendor proposals, managing cost-effective solutions, and assessing quotes. Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee analytics projects from demand management through to delivery. Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Business & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, such as Managing Directors and Functional Directors, to drive analytics initiatives. Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing cross-functional teams to align analytics with business objectives. Data Literacy & Adoption: Ability to drive data literacy programs and advocate for the adoption of data assets across business. Experience in identifying competency gaps and organizing relevant training or learning sessions. Governance & Compliance: Strong understanding of data governance policies and practices. Ability to conduct access reviews, manage data access permissions, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations. Cross-Cultural Communication: Ability to work across diverse geographies and cultures, particularly in African markets. Understanding of the African business landscape, local market dynamics, and regulatory environments is a significant advantage. Soft Skills: Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to simplify complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data integrity issues. Leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to lead teams, foster relationships, and engage effectively with both technical and business leaders.
