Job Description
Job Summary:
We seek a competent and technically strong Senior Lead Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering Team which specializes in supporting equipment sales for large mineral processing this role you will lead process design and engineering efforts across multiple project phases from conceptual studies and test work support to basic engineering and commissioning support. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver highquality costeffective fitforpurpose processing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead process engineering activities across study phases (Test work support Conceptual Flowsheet development PFS FS) and basic engineering for mining and mineral processing projects.
- Develop and review process design deliverables including PFDs P&IDs mass and energy balances process descriptions equipment specifications and datasheets.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of process engineers ensuring consistency quality and compliance with project and industry standards.
- Collaborate with clients project managers and other discipline leads to align technical solutions with project requirements schedule and budget.
- Participate in process design reviews HAZOPs and value engineering sessions.
- Support equipment selection procurement activities vendor evaluations and technical bid reviews.
- Contribute to the preparation of engineering cost estimates and project proposals.
- Provide technical support during construction precommissioning and commissioning phases.
- Ensure all designs meet applicable safety environmental and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree in chemical Metallurgical or Process Engineering.
- 10 years of relevant experience preferably in an EPCM or consulting environment focused on mining and mineral processing.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing unit operations (e.g. crushing grinding flotation leaching solidliquid separation).
- Proficient in process simulation and design tools (e.g. METSIM Aspen JK SimMet).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams and deliver highquality technical outcomes.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interface directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers and promoting knowledge sharing within the team.
Preferred Experience:
- Commodities: copper gold phosphates lithium rare earths rare earths
- Experience in leading testwork
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield project execution
- Professional Engineer or actively pursuing professional registration (advantageous)
