Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Head to lead operational HR delivery across a vast national retail network. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives in highvolume regulated and fastpaced environments. Youll be at the helm of workforce strategy team leadership compliance and culture across over 300 locations shaping how people experience the organisation from onboarding to career progression. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coach and manage a national team of fieldbased HR professionals aligned with store operations.

  • Champion consistent compliant and highquality HR service delivery across retail pharmacy frontshop clinic and category teams.

  • Manage HR readiness for expansion including new store openings and acquisitions.

  • Act as the HR lead in reconfigurations or closures ensuring smooth transitions and workforce continuity.

  • Oversee employee relations and labour compliance ensuring adherence to South African labour law and healthcarespecific regulations.

  • Drive workforce planning in collaboration with Talent Acquisition to meet national demand.

  • Embed a performance culture and build frontline management capability.

  • Collaborate with L&D to strengthen succession planning career development and compliance training.

  • Lead the employee experience strategy across the retail footprint focusing on inclusivity transformation and continuous engagement.

  • Provide strategic HR business partnering to senior retail executives.

  • Leverage workforce data and analytics to shape interventions and optimise costs.

  • Support HR process consistency and digital transformation efforts to improve speed and accuracy.

  • Inspire and grow a highperformance peoplecentric HR team culture.

Requirements:

MustHaves:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Industrial Psychology or related field.

  • 8 years in Human Resources with at least 5 years in senior HR operations or HRBP leadership.

  • Strong exposure to highvolume retail or healthcare environments.

  • Solid understanding of South African labour law and healthcare regulatory frameworks (SAPC NDoH HPCSA).

  • Experience in managing HR service delivery at scale (300 sites large workforce).

  • Proven track record in performance management ER leadership and workforce capability building.

NicetoHaves:

  • Experience in digital HR transformation projects.

  • Knowledge of transformation skills development and EE/BBBEE legislation.

  • Familiarity with L&D frameworks tailored to pharmacy/clinic settings.
