Job Description
GC Solar is seeking a highly organized and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at our Johannesburg head office. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient receipt storage and dispatch of a wide range of solar and electrical products. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership inventory management and logistical expertise to help support the continued growth of our distribution operations.

Our warehouse and logistics functions are central to delivering timely reliable service to our national customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving storing picking and dispatching goods.
- Ensure optimal warehouse layout space utilization and cleanliness in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate stock takes and cycle counts.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock movements and reporting.
- Coordinate with procurement and sales teams for timely replenishment and order fulfilment.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead train and motivate a team of warehouse staff including drivers and dispatch personnel.
- Monitor performance and implement best practices to improve productivity and efficiency.
Logistics & Distribution
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics ensuring timely delivery and optimal routing.
- Coordinate with couriers and transport service providers to ensure effective distribution.
- Oversee loading offloading and handling of products to prevent damage.
Health Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols and legal warehouse regulations.
- Maintain and improve workplace safety through training audits and risk assessments.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in warehouse management preferably within a technical or distribution environment.
- Experience in the solar or electrical industry is a strong advantage.
Skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent problemsolving and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver s license.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends during peak operational periods.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
