Job Description

A leading manufacturing operation in the packaging industry is seeking a dynamic Production Manager to join their team in East London. This pivotal role reports directly to the Operations Executive and offers an exciting opportunity to lead

production and maintenance functions within a fast-paced continuous manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical Mechatronics)
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing production environment (preferably FMCG packaging industry)
  • 2 years experience In Production Management within a continuous production setup managing a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office and production-related software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High levels of integrity urgency and accountability
  • Commercial acumen and a solid understanding of financial controls
  • Proven ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience in the packaging industry will be highly beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all machine and plant maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Lead motivate and manage the production team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Support fault diagnosis and root cause analysis; ensure timely resolution and accurate job card completion.
  • Monitor and improve machine efficiencies especially where performance falls below 85%.
  • Drive measurable technical and process improvements to enhance production effectiveness.
  • Manage the mould and equipment budget including consumables and spare part cost control.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality team to ensure ISO standards and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure factory compliance with internal production standards.
  • Maintain top-tier housekeeping standards (5s) and enforce dress code compliance.
  • Facilitate the training and development of production staff.
