Job Description
On the hunt for Intermediate Infrastructure Engineer in Centurion!
Duties & Responsibilities
This role is well-suited to an individual who is technically hands-on detail-oriented and eager to enhance performance security and stability across both on-premises and cloud systems. Youll play a critical role in ensuring reliable IT operations while contributing to infrastructure improvements and innovation.

Duties:
- Support the installation configuration and maintenance of servers storage and network equipment.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and availability addressing issues proactively.
- Assist with virtualisation administration using platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Perform regular patch management backups and system updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware software and network problems to resolution.
- Maintain user access control and support Active Directory DNS DHCP and Office 365.
- Ensure endpoint security compliance and assist with firewall and VPN configurations.
- Document infrastructure configurations procedures and changes.
- Provide second-line support to service desk escalations and assist in root cause analysis.
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects upgrades and migrations.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Science Business Analytics or a related field.
Experience:
- 3 years experience in an IT infrastructure or system administration role.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and Office 365.
- Exposure to virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with networking principles firewalls and remote access technologies.
- Experience working in medium to large enterprise IT environments is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of system and network fundamentals.
- Solid troubleshooting and technical support skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks under pressure.
- A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to infrastructure stability.
- Awareness of cybersecurity practices and infrastructure security essentials.
- Willingness to learn and stay up to date with evolving infrastructure technologies.
