Job Description

This 12-month internship is designed for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in Human Resources with a focus on Industrial Relations. The intern will support the HR team assisting with IR administration disciplinary processes and employee relations tasks..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to disciplinary hearings grievances and counselling sessions

  • Help coordinate IR meetings and maintain accurate records of outcomes

  • Draft and issue formal letters and notices related to IR matters

  • Track probation periods warnings and fixed-term contract timelines

  • Support in compiling reports and analysing IR trends

  • Attend and take minutes in hearings and consultations (where appropriate)

  • Provide general HR admin support as needed



Requirements


  • Must have completed a Human Resource Management Industrial Psychology or related qualification (National Diploma or Degree)

  • Must be able to work full-time on site at Emperors Palace

  • Basic understanding of South African labour laws (LRA BCEA etc.)

  • Strong admin planning and organisational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally

  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Word and Excel)

Advantageous:

  • Previous HR internship or workplace exposure (even if brief)

  • Familiarity with CCMA processes or internal disciplinary procedure
