Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee capital projects to ensure alignment with business objectives within scope budget and time constraints.
  • Optimise asset performance to support business strategies ensuring availability reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company-specific regulations including adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mine Health and Safety Act.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and meeting engineering standards.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team providing guidance support and performance management to achieve operational goals.
  • Manage financial performance by preparing budgets forecasting costs and monitoring expenditures and cash flow.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment ensuring adherence to Safety Health and Environmental policies and fostering a culture of safety.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and innovation in asset management practices ensuring the application of Physical Asset Management and Reliability Centered Management principles.
  • Engage with stakeholders to address engineering challenges and support sustainable business growth and efficiency.
  • Champion creativity collaboration and a results-driven approach while encouraging inclusivity and adaptability within the team.


Minimum Requirements
  • B Tech or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
  • Government Certificate of Competence: Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
  • 6-8 years of relevant maintenance and project management experience (Essential/Minimum)
  • Management Development Programme completion (Essential/Minimum)
  • Psychometric Assessment completion (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
  • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
  • MHS Act Regulation 2.13.3.1 (Essential/Minimum)
  • Engineering Council of SA registration (PrEng) (Desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of asset management principles including Physical Asset Management and Reliability Centred Management
  • Proven experience in managing statutory compliance and adherence to engineering standards
