Job Description
Introduction
Are you a seasoned mining professional with a passion for operational excellence Our client a leading player in the coal mining industry is seeking a highly skilled Mine Manager to lead and optimise surface mining operations at their site. This role is critical in delivering safe efficient and productive operations across the mine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage loading and hauling of coal material to meet production targets.
- Supervise topsoil stripping and softs pre-stripping in alignment with environmental plans.
- Implement and maintain effective stockpile management strategies for grade and volume control.
- Ensure full compliance with MHSA and all relevant safety and environmental legislation.
- Drive operational efficiency through continuous improvement and cost control initiatives.
- Lead mentor and develop a multi-disciplinary production team.
- Collaborate with planning geology and maintenance teams to ensure seamless workflow.
Minimum Requirements:
- Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (Surface)
- 10 years' experience in surface coal mining operations
- Proven track record in:
- Loading & hauling operations
- Topsoil stripping & softs pre-stripping
- Stockpile management
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent knowledge of mining legislation safety standards and production reporting
- Proficiency in mine planning tools and MS Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license
