Job Description
My client a forward-thinking company in the financial services sector is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their growing team. Youll play a key role in the full software development lifecycle from planning and designing to testing and maintaining solutions that streamline portfolio tax administration and investment accounting processes. Your work will involve automating business processes integrating AI and ML techniques for intelligent automation predictive analytics and anomaly detection and collaborating with clients and auditors to ensure seamless delivery. Youll work with a modern tech stack including Python R SQL and cloud platforms contributing to high-impact projects that shape the future of financial data management. The role offers opportunities to grow technically and professionally with a culture that values innovation diversity and self-driven problem-solving. This position is remote-first with occasional on-site collaboration in Cape Town offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 6 years of recent hands-on software development and IT support experience
Strong proficiency in SQL (Azure SQL Spark DuckDB)
Expertise in Python and/or R for developing software solutions
Familiarity with Delta Lake Spark Apache Arrow Kubernetes/Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and cloud platforms (Azure experience a plus)
Strong tabular data transformation and visualization skills
Knowledge of financial instruments and willingness to learn about portfolio tax administration and investment accounting
Self-driven attitude with excellent communication skills
Bonus: Experience in data engineering Azure resource management (PowerShell) cost optimization virtual network setup or MS 365 admin duties
Qualification:
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science IT Software Engineering or a related field.
