Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide to conduct daily tours and game drives for our guests. This role offers the opportunity to share your knowledge in conservation efforts bring awareness to conservation and inspire visitors through educational storytelling and create a lasting impression.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily tours and daytime guided game drives ensuring safety comfort and enjoyment of guests tour groups and educational groups.
Share in-depth knowledge of local flora fauna bird life and conservation principles in an engaging and educational manner.
Maintain game drive vehicles equipment and guide tools to the highest standard.
Assist with conservation work animal rehabilitation tasks and reserve management activities when required.
Should also be flexible to assist in other areas like reception the deli and curio shop when required.
Provide exceptional guest service creating memorable safari experiences.
Requirements
Requirements:
Nature Site Guide NQF 2 (CATHSSETA) qualification with valid registration.
Valid First Aid certificate.
Valid driver s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong passion for wildlife conservation and environmental education.
Conservation experience or qualification is beneficial but not a requirement.
Must be able to speak English and Afrikaans.
Professional well-presented and guest-focused.
Young enthusiastic and eager to grow in the role as a field
A positive can-do attitude with a willingness to learn from experienced conservationists
Preferred Attributes:
Previous guiding experience would be beneficial but this can be seen as an entry level stepping stone.
Multi-lingual abilities.
Good with children and teens.
Must be able to adapt and change up the information provided during the daily tours to keep it interesting for the guests.
