Job Description
The consultant will be responsible for utilizing advanced biostatistical techniques to analyze and interpret carbon emissions/removal data with a specific focus on biological and ecological aspects for two bankable carbon potential projects to finalize the project documents. The consultant will ensure the project document aligns with the requirements of the new donor/investor and the Vietnamese government.
Assignment Overview and Scope of Work/ Deliverables
Under the overall supervision of the Sector Leader direct supervision by the Project Manager/Team Leader and in collaboration with the Agri-Food Team the Consultant will perform the following tasks:
- Accounting carbon potentials of the proposed regeneration/agro-forestry/AFOLU projects including carbon stock quantification by utilizing advanced biostatistical techniques to analyze and interpret carbon emissions/removal data with a specific focus on biological and ecological aspects
- Develop predictive excel models and statistical tools to forecast future carbon emissions and/or growth considering biological and ecological factors for forest/tree carbon
- Provide/forecast financial flows of the proposed carbon projects
- Advise optimum models for bankable tree planting and agro-forestry projects
- Contributions include but are not limited to landscape data and analysis for agroforestry and forestry models (tree numbers/density species forest types and locations etc).
Timeframe:
The assignment will be implemented from late June until July 2025 up to 10 working days.
Qualifications :
Submission Requirements;
Interested individual consultants should submit the EOIs with following information/ documents via the instructions in this site.
- Letter of Interest
- The consultants CVs which require:
- At least masters degree in economics statistics forestry agriculture environmental science or similar fields.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in carbon modelling and statistics
- At least 10 years experience working experience in data collection analysis and interpretation related to natural ecosystems with a significant emphasis on biostatistical data analysis.
- Background quantifying GHG emissions in successful carbon projects following market standards
- Proficiency in statistical modelling for forest/tree carbon and financial analysis of a bankable carbon project
- Excellent knowledge of Gold Standard methodologies
- Specific working knowledge and professional experience of the agroforestry and/or the Central Highlands/North-western region.
Other requirements
- Familiarity with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and carbon finance mechanisms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work with complex and extensive data sets
- Practical and applied understanding of mathematical and statistical related to forest/tree growth yields and harvests
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit towards work
- Good communication skills in English and Vietnamese both spoken and written.
- Good computer literacy and proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools such as Python or others.
3. Due Diligence Documents via for EOI Submissions: EOIs are due 17:00 on June 15th 2025.

Selection Process
SNV will review all Expressions of Interest received in accordance with the guidelines and criteria in this solicitation. SNV reserves the right to exclude any EOIs that do not meet the guidelines. Please note that SNV is unable to provide detailed feedback to those EOIs that are not selected.
Step 1: SNV will shortlist selected EOIs and unsuccessful respondents will be notified. Successful applicants will be contacted by SNV.
Step 2: SNV will release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the specific activities and contract with the selected consultants.
Protection of Information
We request that Expressions of Interest responses be free of any intellectual property that the applicant wishes to protect. Should offerors wish to include proprietary intellectual property that they believe would be helpful for SNV please note the proprietary nature of such information. Costing information will be kept confidential and will not be shared beyond SNV.
Issuance of this EOI does not constitute a commitment award or engagement on the part of SNV nor does it commit SNV to any future commitment or engagement.
