Job Description
A reputable manufacturing company in Port Elizabeth is seeking to appoint an Engineering Storeman to join its dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a diligent detailoriented individual with solid store experience in engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted service to the Technical and Engineering departments by efficiently managing inventory and ensuring supply continuity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Issuing parts to the Engineering and Plant departments.
- Performing cycle counts and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Ordering selected engineering materials.
- Managing stock control and maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy.
- Implementing and maintaining 5S practices in the storage area.
- General housekeeping of the stores area.
SAPSpecific Responsibilities:
- Posting and managing material movement transactions.
- Conducting inventory control activities (e.g. enquiries cycle counting).
- Handling highvolume transactions under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Liaising with Engineering and Production teams.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a storekeeping or administrative role preferably in an engineering environment.
- Prior experience working with ERP systems particularly SAP.
- Strong knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
