An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated Health Information Services Officers to join our Medical Records team at Newcastle Private Hospital on a Casualbasis.
As a Health Information Services Officer your responsibilities will include:
Medical record preparation and retrieval within strict deadlines
Provision of health information to internal and external clients
Answering phone call enquiries for patient information
Filing and preparation of medical records and loose sheets
Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
Participating in performance improvement activities
Culling of medical records
Scanning/photocopying information for various requirements
Assist with medical record forms stock management & distribution
Essential Criteria:
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
Ability to plan andwork within deadlines
Attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and General Computer literacy
Prior experience in a Hospital or Medical Administration Role
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience within a Medical Records environment or dealing with confidential records
Experience with the WebPAS patient information system
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
