Job Description
Introduction
QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER (RAIL & LOCOMOTIVE INDUSTRY)
PRETORIA GAUTENG PROVINCE
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Matric
- Degree or Diploma in Quality Management Rail Engineering or related field(ESSENTIAL)
- Trade Tested Diesel Electrical Fitter
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the role of Quality Manager within Locomotive or related Rail Engineering environment
- 10 years working experience as a Diesel Electrical Fitter(ESSENTIAL)
- Certified Internal Auditor on Quality (locomotive industry) (ESSENTIAL)
- Relevant certifications : OHS & First Aid Certifications
- Highly experienced in all electrical and mechanical aspects of both GE & GM locomotives
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 implementation and auditing quality management & software according to industry-specific standards
- Proficient on MS Office programmes(ESSENTIAL)
- Proficient on Sage Pastel MS Projects TIMS & NCR systems(ESSENTIAL)
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans(written & verbal)
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of artisans and warehouse staff
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Valid Drivers Licence(no endorsements)& own reliable vehicle

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Duties:
- Quality Management System Development:Develop implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards product specifications and industry regulations
- Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor staff on quality standards and procedures
- Continuous Improvement: Drive internal audits non-conformance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as OHS regulations and maintain accurate record-keeping and reporting
- Leadership& Accountability: Lead and manage a team ensuring high-quality efficient project execution coupled with taking full accountability within the role

Industry-Specific Requirements:
- Locomotive Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with locomotive industry standards regulations and quality management systems
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of technical aspects of locomotive manufacturing maintenance or repair
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant regulations such as those related to health and safety within the workplace
