Duties & Responsibilities
Junior Software Quality Engineer
The Junior Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing both manual and automated test cases to ensure the quality of software products within the organisation. This individual will be embedded within a development team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions in alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is passionate about software testing curious about software systems and processes and eager to learn and grow within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and execute test suites based on business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts and development teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality expectations.
- Identify document and prioritize software defects clearly and efficiently.
- Assist in the execution of performance tests as needed.
- Contribute to test automation efforts within the team.
- Maintain and update detailed test documentation.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in software testing with exposure to test automation and performance testing.
- Formal certification in software testing (e.g. ISTQB Foundation Level).
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working in financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
- Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Java JavaScript or Python.
- Familiarity with open-source automation tools (e.g. Selenium or similar).
- Working knowledge of SQL and database operations.
- Basic understanding of performance testing tools such as Apache JMeter.
- Foundational knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery practices.
