Cloud Engineer

Were looking for a talented and driven Cloud Engineer to join our this role youll be instrumental in the design implementation and maintenance of client cloud-based systems ensuring optimal performance security and scalability during project delivery. Youll work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design servers network connectivity and software configurations for cloud computing infrastructures and applications with a focus on DevOps principles. Deliver solutions for integration between Cloud and on-premises data centres.
• Develop the design and implementation of the cloud environment.
• Direct experience migrating applications from an enterprise to public cloud providers (eg AWS)
• Keep in mind the clients business needs and overall IT strategy when developing cloud solutions to deliver the best possible outcome for the client. Apply the AWS Well-Architectured framework to deliver consistent standardized and best practice solutions.
• Develop and document technical designs for integration and implementation of new and existing cloud applications and systems.
• Support the client facing teams to develop a comprehensive Point of View that will assist clients on their cloud transformation journey.

Qualifications :

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Systems Analysis or a related field.
• 2-7 years of professional programming and/or cloud environment experience encompassing planning architecting and implementing cloud solutions.
• Cloud Associate-level certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Cloud Services (e.g. AWS Azure) and familiarity with standard concepts practices and procedures of cloud technology including Software as a Service (SaaS) Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation).
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages (e.g. Python Java C# Javascript TypeScript).
• SQL knowledge and experience.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Experience with monitoring system performance.

As a Cloud Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• AWS Cloud migrations and modernization: Migrating and modernising the clients current on-premise environment to the cloud.
• Cloud Solution Management: Setting up configuring and maintaining cloud solutions including designing developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems in accordance with best practices.
• Collaboration & Education: Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions and educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
• System Optimization & Security: Ensuring the efficient functioning of data storage and processing in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security. This involves identifying analyzing and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues and regularly reviewing existing systems to recommend improvements.
• Development & Automation: Developing and maintaining cloud solutions creating automation solutions to streamline processes and implementing robust security measures to protect data.
• Client Interaction & Support: Interacting with clients providing cloud support and making recommendations based on client needs.
• Performance Monitoring & Cost Control: Monitoring system performance and identifying opportunities for cost minimization through effective cost-control strategies.
