Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
ENVIRONMENT:
A rapidly growing Cape Town-based company is revolutionizing the parking industry by digitizing parking spaces with cutting-edge technology including license plate recognition advanced management systems and digital payments. They are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in and practical experience in this role you will contribute to scaling a platform that serves thousands of users and integrates seamlessly with hardware mobile applications and browser-based dashboards. While experience with Python is beneficial Django is the primary backend focus and a willingness to deepen your skills in this area is highly valued. Youll collaborate closely with designers backend engineers and product managers to deliver intuitive high-performance interfaces and impactful features.
DUTIES:
- Frontend Development: Build sleek modern user interfaces with Nuxt and TypeScript.
- API Integration: Connect and consume Django-based REST APIs to enable smooth interactions between frontend and backend systems.
- End-to-End Features: Develop full-stack features where needed owning everything from design to delivery.
- Collaborate: Partner with designers to translate wireframes into fully functional components.
- Optimize: Ensure optimal performance responsiveness and cross-platform consistency.
- Maintain Quality: Write modular well-structured and well-documented code.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: 4 years as a frontend or full stack developer with proven experience in and Nuxt.
- Django Proficiency: Comfortable with Django and RESTful APIs or eager to grow into this space.
- UI/UX Sensibility: A keen eye for detail and passion for building smooth intuitive interfaces.
- Agile: Able to thrive in a fast-paced iterative environment with a product-focused mindset.
- Mobile Awareness: Flutter experience is a bonus but not essential.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Python scripting or backend development.
- Exposure to cloud environments (e.g. AWS) or DevOps workflows.
- Familiarity with modern frontend tools or AI-assisted development.
- Previous work in startups or smart city/mobility-focused tech.
