It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Summary of the Job:

The Senior QA Automation Engineer role is responsible for testing software applications with a focus on quality and reliability. They are responsible for defining implementing and maintaining advanced automation solutions and strategies within their team. The Sr. Engineer will provide technical advice and direction to help team and practice to deliver effective automation solutions. They will work closely with their agile team and participate in agile ceremonies contribute to developing acceptance criteria create test cases and test scripts needed for successful execution of manual and automated functional addition the role is responsible for ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified documented tracked and resolved prior to release.

About This Role:

  • Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle

  • Lead and Drive Quality / Automation as a Team Mindset within the team

  • Exhibit domain knowledge and product expertise for supported applications

  • Decompose stories/business requirements into test cases that clearly articulate test objectives steps and expected results

  • Estimate prioritize plan coordinate/perform and document results of test execution

  • Report track and retest defects/bugs prior to release

  • Participate in and conduct regular test case peer reviews and automation code reviews

  • Lead and collaborate with their delivery team to build automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline

  • Analyze and understand the current technology architecture system interdependencies and application stacks

  • Lead by example in exhibiting initiative for self-learning of new technical skills and tools

  • Drive consistent improvement and knowledge sharing principles across the team

  • Lead automation strategies/solutions and projects within team and across discipline

  • Evaluate and propose use of new tools for continuous improvement and driving automation strategies forward

  • Experience building testing deploying monitoring and maintaining effective test automation solutions

  • Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

  • Setting up and maintaining Automation Frameworks

  • Mentor others in test automation programming and QA best practices

  • Works independently researching solving and programming complex automation solutions

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

The ideal candidate for this role will have automation experience working with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and SaaS applications in addition to the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience and/or certifications

  • 5 years experience using UI and/or API automation tools - examples: TestComplete Selenium / Appium Cypress Postman Swagger GitLab Postman

  • 5 years hands-on experience programming/scripting with JavaScript and/or Java

  • Additional scripting experience a plus: Python C# PowerShell SQL XML

  • 5 Experience executing all levels of testing (System Functional Integration and Regression)

  • 5 Experience in web microservices and database automation

  • 3 Experience with Git as a version control system in conjunction with solutions such as Bitbucket GitHub or GitLab

  • Experience setting up and maintaining automation frameworks

  • Experience using CI/CD practices

  • Experience in load and performance testing using tools such as LoadRunner Gatling JMeter or other relevant performance testing tools

  • Experience planning developing documenting and maintaining a regression testing strategy

  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace BrowserStack or similar technologies with a strong understanding of system performance metrics application health monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Working knowledge of Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven development along with STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)

  • Strong understanding of Agile QA methodologies tools and processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating complex information

  • Knowledge of MS Office: Work Excel PowerPoint MS Access

Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $88067.00-$145309.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience education and/or skill level.
