Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Reconciliation Specialist to join our team in the oil and gas industry. This role is responsible for reconciling physical and financial inventory records supporting internal controls and ensuring accurate reporting. The successful candidate must have strong financial accounting and reconciliation experience commercial acumen and operate effectively within a corporate environment. Proficiency in both business French and English-spoken and written-is required as the role involves coordination with multilingual stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular reconciliations of inventory between operational physical and ERP system records.
Investigate discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to resolve root causes.
Ensure accurate tracking and valuation of stock movements including usage transfers and disposals.
Collaborate with field operations warehouse personnel finance and procurement.
Support inventory valuation processes using accounting methods such as FIFO and Weighted Average.
Contribute to monthly and annual closing activities ensuring accurate reflection of inventory balances.
Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all reconciliation activities.
Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and control.
Minimum Requirements:
Business and commercial acumen ability to understand operational impacts on financial results.
Corporate environment experience experience working in structured multi-functional teams.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle NetSuite or similar platforms).
Proficiency in spoken and written business French.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the oil and gas industry particularly in inventory cost control or supply chain functions.
Knowledge of stock valuation methods such as FIFO LIFO and Weighted Average.
Familiarity with materials and inventory specific to oil and gas operations (e.g. drilling tools MRO supplies).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables lookups data analysis).
Certifications such as CMA CPIM or oil & gas-specific accounting training are a plus.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field required.
Professional certifications or further education are desirable.
