Purpose of the job
Carry out maintenance of electrical equipment.
Attend to day-to-day breakdowns as per job cards.
Ensure that electrical installations are compliant and up to standard.
Required outputs: Functional:
To complete apprenticeship program theoretical and practical experience.
To be involved in the servicing repair and installation of various electrical equipment.
Complete maintenance work on electrical equipment including testing malfunctioning equipment identifying defects trouble shooting repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
Assist with new and upgrade installations of building electrical wiring and AC 3-phase motors.
On occasion required to carry out miscellaneous legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as instructed by the Electrician or Maintenance Team Leader.
Ensure adherence to quality standards rules and regulations.
Assist with breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
Make use of electrical testing equipment of power and handouts.
Ensure accurate and honest reporting of incidents near misses and safety hazards
Minimum education Grade 12 with a post matric qualification (N3 Electrical)
Basic awareness of SANS 10142 wiring code
Awareness of Merseta apprenticeship requirements.
Must be computer literate.
Basic awareness of OHSAct.
Must possess good report writing skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team and be deadline driven.
