Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Opportunity: Intercompany Accountant (1-Year FTC)
Location:Johannesburg South Africa
Contract Type:Fixed-Term (12 Months)
Reports to:Treasurer
We are seeking a skilledIntercompany Accountantto join our finance team on a1-year fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience in intercompany transactions reconciliations and treasury operations.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
- Review and verify intercompany transaction details.
- Determine appropriate accounting entries (GL accounts cost centers transaction types).
- Post journals and prepare accruals for recurring transactions.
- Ensure timely expense recognition and liaise with accounting contacts.
Reconciliation
- Conduct preliminary and final intercompany reconciliations.
- Resolve reconciling items within month-end timelines.
- Prepare formal balance sheet reconciliations
Treasury
- Reconcile foreign currency bank statements against GL and clearing accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and propose resolutions.
- Load exchange rates and post bank journals.
- Support statutory audits and resolve queries.
Audit
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
What Were Looking For
- Experience in intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and across global teams.
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
