Position Overview:
SF&S Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing planning and overseeing civil engineering projects from concept to completion. This role requires strong technical expertise project management skills and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality infrastructure and land development solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Planning
- Develop engineering designs calculations and plans for civil infrastructure projects (e.g. roads drainage systems site grading utilities and stormwater management).
- Prepare construction documents and technical specifications in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site evaluations to assess design options and constraints.
Project Management
- Assist in managing project timelines budgets and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with architects surveyors contractors government agencies and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
Permitting & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare permit applications and assist in securing necessary approvals from relevant agencies.
- Ensure all designs and documentation meet regulatory environmental and safety standards.
Field & Construction Support
- Perform site inspections and support construction activities to ensure adherence to engineering plans and specifications.
- Provide technical support during construction including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate project records including design files reports and progress documentation.
- Prepare engineering reports and present findings and recommendations to project teams or clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 3 years of experience in civil engineering design and project coordination.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation or similar.
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations permitting processes and construction standards.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
