Were looking to add anExcavator Operatorto our team please read below for the details of the position. Applicants should have experience with excavation trenching pipe setting and loading trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and skillfully operate various equipment including backhoes loaders and skid steers with emphasis on excavators.
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform tasks in a safe and accident-free manner.
Requirements:
- Three years of experience required
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving history.
- CDL Class A drivers license preferred.
- Experience operating various equipment including backhoes excavators loaders and skid steer.
- Applicant must be able to pass drug test and background check.
- The position location is inChesapeake Virginia
- Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Can take and apply direction from supervisor
- Workers must provide their own safety footwear
- Workers must have reliable transportation or be able to access jobsites in any location
- Saturdays are required periodically as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise levels in the work environment is usually loud.
- Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat safety glasses gloves ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.).
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to bend stoop and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
