Norris School - Southampton Special Education Paraprofessional Full Time Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum and/or students with severe disabilities/global developmental delays requiredExperience with Applied Behavioral Analysis/Discrete Trials preferredDe-escalation and Restraint Trained individual preferredESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in delivering student instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis when necessary as well as implement accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such academic and behavioral student safety utilizing safety protocols including but not limited to proactive de-escalation general and special education teachers in collecting data on student with other staff in implementing teaching protocols and behavioral intervention student independence through the acquisition of skills and :Works under the supervision of certified school personnel and under the general supervision of the assistant principal/principal. The performance of these functions may require the exercise of independent judgment of the Paraprofessional in a range of instructional supervision and other assigned REQUIREMENTS: Good general health. Alert physically assertive and mobile at all times. Lift push or pull 50 pounds as required; Mobility to regularly walk stand stoop reach bend and run.
