Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician

We have a Part-Time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Technician based in our Hiawatha clinic.
We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our team. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn in a fast-paced setting and the ability to positively interact and help patients while providing patient education and instructions. Interested candidates should be willing to work both independently and as a member of a team provide excellent patient care and perform patient workups in a precise and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Document patients medical and ocular histories in electronic medical record.
- Perform patient workups.
- Complete diagnostic testing such as retinoscopy manual refraction applanation A-scan keratometry tonometry OCTs and visual fields.
- Provide patient education according to physician instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel to other offices as needed.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Medical office experience required.
- Ophthalmic testing experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Experience providing excellent patient care.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and communicate concerns regarding the results of diagnostic testing.
