An exciting opportunity has arisen for aManufacturing Engineer Capability Acquisition to join the Regen Programme within Submarines.

The Role

This is an opportunity to join the Regen Programme at a critical this role you will be defining the requirements for new technology acquisitions liaising with the supply chain and laying the foundations for process development.

You will execute engineering activities to deliver new technology and capability to meet business and customer requirements for safety quality cost deliver rate and leadtime (SQCD). Interface across multiple teams to ensure that technology solutions are aligned to existing strategies.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will be involved in the following:

  • HSE - Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to regulatory requirements Health Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.
  • Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes can achieve and sustain the design intent and that processes are followed so that our products and those of our suppliers conform to their specification. Rigorously raise investigate and resolve safety related issues.
  • Quality - Drive a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS SABRe and Export Control and Intellectual Property requirements.
  • Requirements - Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes digital systems and technologies to meet current or future requirements.
  • Develop Capability - Develop implement validate maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety quality cost delivery rate and lead time. Capture analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required. Capture and utilise lessons learnt. Identify document and share best practice including by participation in relevant Communities of Practice.
  • Build external relationships - Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to enable delivery of their objectives.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent)
  • Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g. UK IEng or CEng) where available
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business
  • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you dont currently already have this in place.
