Controller:
Summary:
We are looking for a Controller who will participate in a range of financial functions from both a strategic and hands-on perspective and will provide both operational and support for the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Nothing in this job description reflects managements assignment of essential functions. It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
*Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating analyzing and reporting appropriate data points
*Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
*Develop implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines
*Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling analysis and corrective actions
*Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
*Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts costs and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
*Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks budgets program monitoring and reporting standards on biweekly monthly and annual basis
*Implement consistent accounting policies practices and procedures across all programs adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
*Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets policies procedures and workflows
*Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
*Lead rollout efforts of New ERP and ERP related reporting coordination
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
*Leadership and Supervision of Accountants A/P A/R Asst Controller/Acct Mgr.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelors Degree: a CPA and/or MBA required
*At least five years prior accounting experience
*5 years or more relevant experience in a mid-sized manufacturing company or division of a large corporation
*Excellent written and communication skills
*Advanced proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
*Proficiency and working experience with ERP systems Basic Accounting software systems; experience with Infor CSI
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
*Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
*Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
*Ability to speak and write English with fluency
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
*Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages fractions addition subtraction multiplication and division quickly and accurately
COMPUTER SKILLS
*Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database contact management systems and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
*Pivot Tables Excel Functions Excel Reporting
*Experience with ERP applications (Infor CSI).
REASONING ABILITY
*Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
*Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form
*Ability to create reports and enhance reporting for senior mgmt. and internal customers as needed
