Your job
As an Engineering Manager with a hands-on mindset you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for Statistas internal Content Tooling platform a key enabler for our in-house researchers and data close collaboration with a strong Product Manager youll be at the forefront of building AI-enabled content production at scale. Together youll shape the roadmap empower a senior engineering team and deliver high-quality scalable and cost-efficient solutions.
What youll do:
Lead a team of backend frontend and QA engineers creating a supportive environment where people can grow and do their best work
Collaborate closely with Product to define and deliver on a clear vision and roadmap
Support the team in architectural and technical decision-making while not being expected to contribute code regularly
Drive engineering excellence and accountability for the stability performance and maintainability of the tools you build and own
Lead and deliver migration projects Statista has a long history of building internal tools; youll work to consolidate whats still valuable and phase out the obsolete
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partner with data engineers and architects to develop powerful internal content automation and tooling
Your skills
3 years of experience leading cross-functional product-oriented engineering teams
Solid grasp of full-stack development ideally with Java React and both relational and NoSQL databases
Strong understanding of distributed system design particularly microservice architectures
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset you build strong relationships with senior engineers product peers other engineering managers and various stakeholders
Familiarity with building applications on AWS
Bonus: experience developing GUI-heavy internal tools or platforms
