Job Description

Overview

G&A Partners client is currently seeking a Retail Shop Manager to join its team in San Antonio TX.

Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) is headquartered in San Antonio TX and serves more than 18000 Girl Scouts (girls and adults) across 21 counties in southwest Texas. Girl Scouts is the worlds preeminent leadership development organization for girls building girls of courage confidence and character who make the world a better place.

The Retail Shop Manageris responsible for GSSWT shops camp trading post and online store and establishes council shop objectives to include sales goals margin and profitability plans that support the annual shop budget. The Retail Shop Manager develops and implements annual merchandise and marketing plans to achieve council objectives by promoting and stimulating sales of Girl Scout merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the councils annual merchandise plan including service center shop field sales and online sales strategies.
  • Develops the annual marketing plan for the retail operations by using feedback input data and consultation with girls volunteers and staff.
  • Supervises and trains paid and volunteer shop staff.
  • Manages technical aspects of retail store including stock levels purchasing inventory controls pricing sales marketing and daily weekly monthly annual reporting. As well as utilizing Girl Scout Merchandise (GSM) resources.
  • Ensures efficient and effective operations to meet annual sales objectives while utilizing sound merchandising techniques.
  • Develops the councils online shop presence working in conjunction with all council retail outlets.
  • Effectively monitors evaluates and controls inventory stock levels by conducting periodic and annual inventories and maintaining accurate inventory controls to meet seasonal and special needs of shop customers.
  • Provides high quality services to all internal and external customers by portraying a positive image of Girl Scouting.
  • Creates promotional materials and disseminates sales and product information through appropriate council communication channels to promote the councils shop products and services.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with licensed and unlicensed vendors to maintain boutique stock.
  • Oversees periodic reconciliation of financial transactions. Enforces appropriate accounting and business protocols for money handling and collection of sensitive customer information.
  • Manages and coordinates department budget and corresponding resource allocations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the councils mission and goals.

  • Team Building- Knows team-building techniques and processes; collaborates with others to create optimal solutions; fosters a commitment to a team approach to work; promotes partnerships between work units; collaboratively defines boundaries and outcomes of work responsibilities; shares information with others; recognizes and rewards team accomplishments; shares decision-making responsibility with team members.
  • Customer Service Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.

Licensure/Membership Requirements:The employee is required to maintain membership with Girl Scouts of the United States of America throughout the duration of their employment with GSSWT.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education/Experience:Bachelors degree and two- to four-years of progressive responsibility; or any combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Language Ability:Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills:Must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel Outlook and Word).

Privacy Policy

wage is $21/hr.

The starting range represents the low and high end of the G&A Partners range for this position. Actual wages will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of G&As total compensation package for employees.
