Job Description
Overview
The Barista at Malvern Station is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team member who brings The Butterys beverage program to life- mastering our coffee tea and retail offerings while warmly sharing that knowledge with both guests and fellow staff. As a proud ambassador of The Buttery this person creates a welcoming high-quality customer experience and help foster a supportive positive work environment.
While this role is primarily based at Malvern Station every team member is also part of the core Malvern location. All baristas are trained for the full Buttery experience including counter service and large-scale beverage production to ensure a strong understanding of our brand and consistent service and scheduling across locations.
Responsibilities
- Open the store in a timely manner and be able to efficiently work alone.
- Close out registers and send out end of day notes.
- Prepare and serve beverages according to The Butterys standards in a timely manner.
- Foster a culture of respect support and teamwork.
- Help enforce health food safety and sanitation standards in the space.
- Restock shelves and assist with the distribution of weekly deliveries as needed.
- Routinely clean the bar area customer tables and coffee equipment.
- Provide efficient and friendly service at all times.
- Accurately ring up sales handle cash and give change in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Report customer comments to the Lead Barista or General Manager.
- Maintain neatness and cleanliness in retail displays storage areas and the FOH bar area.
- Ensure beverage standards are upheld across the team in coordination with the Lead Barista.
- Continue education on coffee and tea products.
- Close out registers and send out end of day notes.
- Collaborate with other team members to help train new staff on culture beverage procedures and customer service.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in high-volume coffee preferred but willing to train the right candidate
- Previous customer service experience in food and beverage or retail setting preferred.
- Excellent time management organizational and listening skills.
- Strong understanding of coffee drink execution.
- Passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service.
- Love for all things food and beverage.
- Be caring self-motivated and exhibit an aptitude for learning teaching and promoting teamwork
