Business overview

Our business in Munich is part of our leading global contract research organization (CRO) providing comprehensive integrated drug development laboratory and lifecycle management services. Our clients and partners include pharmaceutical biotechnology medical devices and academic and government organizations.

Summary:

As the Sr. HR Manager you provide comprehensive HR support to our site in Munich in order to facilitate improved business performance and employee engagement. You are accountable to implement site HR strategies to support delivery of the business objectives. This includes continuing to develop a culture based on the 4is and continuous improvement attracting retaining and developing talents. The role delivers day-to-day operational HR services to site managers and employees through the full employment life cycle. The Sr. HR Manager will also be a Site Leadership team member and assist with global HR initiatives

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary point of contact for employees and managers within given client groups for all HR related issues including: staffing compensation and benefits; employee relations; career movement/development
  • Manage Munich-based HR team consisting of 2 employees
  • Responsible for all HR administration related to site based and the remote employees
  • Communicate/implement HR and business corporate initiatives within client groups including performance management management development succession planning etc.
  • Consult with individuals and teams to improve organizational effectiveness:
  • Leadership coaching on various management levels
  • Own specific HR projects driven across the division or site
  • Act as lead HR contact with the Works Council for all HR matters of the site
  • Partner with the HR Center of Excellence and relevant Business HR partners and for division/BU/site wide initiatives and tasks

Required Education/Experience:

  • University qualifications (focus on business is helpful)
  • Strong knowledge of at least one major component of HR (staffing organizational development compensation and benefits)
  • Broad understanding of contemporary human resources strategies and practices
  • Previous experience successfully interacting with Works Council
  • Ability to gain trust of all levels of employees
  • Ability to build business relationships with multiple levels of management
  • Ability to negotiate/influence others
  • Ability to analyze organizational issues and make recommendations
  • Ability to seek opportunities to impact the business and sell management on approach
  • Ability to speak German & English fluently
  • Ability to travel occasionally
