Job Description
Work-Study positions are federally funded part-time positions. These positions are located on campus internship-type positions are available for general office support lab and technology support and tutoring. They also require clerical computing and telephone skills.
Work study will be used in both the Cafe and the general labs of the Hospitality program.
- Must be able to lift a min of 50lbs and stand on their feet for up to 6hrs at a time when needed.
- Work Study will be required to work directly with food production in the Cafe and maintaining the inventory.
- Will also work closely with our guests from the community and our Ivy tech staff and students.
- Perform opening and closing duties in the Cafe from the food prep to setting up the register and money handling.
- Programming and operating our Cafe POS system will be a part of the learning and daily operating duties as well as working with the lab section of the Hospitality program to learn ordering and vendor selection.
- Work studies will help receive incoming orders and prepare them for the weekly classes.
To Qualify for our Federal Work Study program students:
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
Student must demonstrate financial need.
Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment
background checks including criminal history check and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Official transcripts required upon hiring.
