Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED required
Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred
Ability to relate well to children and maintain a positive and encouraging attitude
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise children in both structured and unstructured settings
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Must pass a BCI/FBI background check as required by Ohio Department of Education regulations

Position Summary:
The After School Program Assistant supports the implementation of a safe engaging and enriching environment for students participating in the after school program. The assistant works under the supervision of the Program Coordinator to assist with academic support enrichment activities recreation and supervision of students in grades K8.

Key responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor student behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment
Assist students with homework and provide academic enrichment support
Facilitate age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities including arts games and structured play
Help maintain clean organized program areas and ensure materials are ready for daily activities
Communicate effectively with students staff and families
Support implementation of school and program rules and routines
Report incidents concerns and achievements to the Program Coordinator
Participate in team meetings and required training sessions
