Position: Custodian ( Janitor) - Lodge
Department: Hualapai Lodge
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: H2
Supervisor: Hotel Manager

Position Summary:
Provides custodial services for the Hualapai Lodge. Typical duties would include vacuuming sweeping mopping of floors maintaining clean restroom and shower facilities trash collection and clean fitness center and public areas. Maintains janitorial equipment in a clean safe and operable condition and use proper safety and health procedures in the use of all chemicals. General maintenance of grounds. Provides quality customer service at all times.
Knowledge and Abilities:
  1. Ability to physically complete custodial duties such as vacuuming mopping cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and shower facilities collecting trash cleaning windows cleaning fitness equipment and maintenance of grounds.
  2. Basic knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals and ability to learn and follow proper safety and use policies and procedures.
  3. Ability to routinely walk stand bend and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  4. Ability to work in a team environment multi-task and establish and maintain positive working relationships. Good client/customer service skills and the ability to work independently as well as in support of the group effort.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain clean floors by vacuuming sweeping and mopping floors and stairs at the Hualapai Lodge.
  2. Clean and sanitize all restroom facilities and equipment showers and fitness equipment.
  3. Restock all supplies in restrooms restock towels in the fitness center and pool and take dirty towels to laundry.
  4. Empty all trash cans replace liners and maintain clean receptacles inside and outside of the Lodge.
  5. Answer visitor/tourists questions gives directions share information about Hualapai tourism offerings Hualapai history and culture.
  6. Clean all windows and doors counter tops furniture elevator doors drinking fountains and tables in public areas and conference rooms.
  7. Maintain custodial closets in a clean organized and safe manner.
  8. Maintain custodial equipment in a clean safe and operable condition. Label dilute and use all chemicals in a proper manner.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of the grounds surrounding the Lodge.
  10. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Good oral communication skills.
  2. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
Working Conditions:
Position requires ability to work indoors as well as in outdoor environment occasionally. Must be able to routinely walk stand bend and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of duties.
Must be able to work varying schedules weekends and holidays.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and extensive background check may be required. All applicants are considered without regard to age sex race national origin religion marital status sexual orientation or physical disability. However preference may be given to persons of Indian decent in accordance with Public law 88-353 Section 703 (7-2-71) and Public Law 93-638 Section 7B



Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs 1988 the Hualapai People who have been part of this land since time immemorial established GCRC welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West suspending them 4000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
