Position Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Commercial & Disputes Department. This is a replacement hire for a high-priority role supporting multiple attorneys (10 30 depending on case load). The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience exceptional organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. Personal injury or insurance defense backgrounds are not a fit for this role.
You will work closely with attorneys and the Associate Director of Paralegals to support all phases of litigation from case inception to trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare pleadings motions and appellate documents.
- Manage complex case files and oversee electronic document production using firm software.
- Assist with trial preparation including witness coordination exhibit lists trial logistics and vendor management.
- Conduct cite-checking and factual research using Lexis Westlaw PACER and other legal databases.
- Manage discovery processes including subpoenas and requests for production.
- Act as liaison between attorneys clients experts and other stakeholders.
- Organize and review case documents for accuracy completeness and compliance.
- Attend hearings trials and off-site proceedings as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
- Education: Bachelors degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Trial Director and e-discovery tools.
- Strong legal research abilities and familiarity with litigation processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail organization and time management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel for extended periods as required.
Work Environment & Additional Details
- Hybrid schedule with 3 required onsite days per week in one of the listed offices.
- Occasional travel to client sites firm offices and trial venues.
- Overtime may be required with little notice.
