Specific experience in footwear is highly desirable and those candidates will be prioritized

Will work on a direct team of about 8 people; will also work with a larger cross-functional team

Candidates should expect 2 rounds of interviews

o Interviews will be mostly behavioral focusing on previous experience

o HM will ask interviewing candidates if they have looked at Nikes site/store

Job Description:

  • For merchants everything begins and ends with the consumer! We are looking for a consumerist with an affinity for product who enjoys the energy of moving at the pace of retail and our consumers. A successful Merchant will contribute to an inclusive positive and progressive team dynamic. Its about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:

  • The Buyer works closely with fellow merchants buyers and cross-functional teams; in particular Digital and Stores Buying Consumer Merchandising Planning Allocation Site Merchandising and Brand Marketing. We also work with finance operations and the insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting including quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales inventory and consumer behaviors.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • You will partner in bringing the seasonal assortment to life on the Digital platforms. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans including coordinating between genders brands and how individual products or collections impact each other. You will collaborate cross functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies are executed.
  • You will hone consumer-centric assortment plans across multiple seasons with an understanding of Directs position in the market & competitive landscape to blend fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season trading to influence actions to optimize growth with your critical partners.
  • You will be responsible for 50% of the Womens Sportswear Footwear business with ownership of Classics and Solar.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • We are looking for consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoy the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. A successful Senior Buyer will thrive and contribute to a positive and progressive team dynamic as well as lead in a way that elevates the total team.
  • This role is responsible for assorting adapting & curating consumer right assortments with end in mind for the Direct Digital business by using historical data analytics and real-time market feedback to advise future seasons while winning today (in-season read & react/selling & serving)!
  • The candidate should possess proven retail competence and analytical abilities have an understanding of retail environments and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business.
  • Requires a Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education experience and training
  • 2-4 years experience in footwear buying and/or merchandising product creation and/or retail in a vertical multi-brand or digital environment
  • Strong affinity for current market trends for Her Sport and how apparel can continue to be a style leader in the marketplace
  • Footwear Apparel Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience
  • Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through turn ASP UPT and others
  • Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action
