About our role:
The Manager of Infrastructure Services supports and advances Lactalis Australias IT infrastructure and systems by leading a team of System Administrators and Infrastructure experts. The role ensures that IT infrastructure services and systems remain resilient supportable cost-effective and secure while consistently delivering the functionality and technology expected by users.
Responsibilities include:
Infrastructure Management
Ensures the smooth operation of both on-premises and cloud systems including servers networks storage backups and data centres.
Oversees upgrades maintenance and overall system lifecycle to reduce downtime and boost efficiency.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
Leads and supports the ICT Infrastructure team by managing workloads mentoring staff and encouraging professional growth.
Projects and System Change
Sponsors and provides technical leadership for infrastructure projects from planning to completion ensuring they meet deadlines budgets and business goals.
Security & Compliance
Works with the Cyber Security team to identify and address potential security risks in the Lactalis Australia infrastructure systems and processes under their control.
Incident & Problem Management
Acts as the escalation point for complex technical issues ensuring quick resolution and thorough root cause analysis. Leads reviews after major incidents to drive improvements.
Budget Vendor & Asset Management
Manages vendor relationships contracts and services agreements.
Maintains accurate records of infrastructure assets and looks for ways to reduce costs in order to contribute to budgeting and long-term planning.
Strategy & Innovation
Provides input into ICT strategy by identifying trends and recommending new technologies that enhance performance efficiency or scalability.
About you:
The Manager Infrastructure Services role requires a blend of leadership technical expertise and strategic thinking. Candidates must have a:
A strong foundation in IT infrastructure with 7 years of experience in systems administration ideally supported by a Graduate Diploma or Bachelors degree in Information Technology. Equivalent industry experience is also acceptable.
Technically the role demands proficiency in managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems particularly Microsoft Windows Server SQL Server and Red Hat Linux. Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware Hyper-V) backup and disaster recovery (Veeam Azure Site Recovery) and monitoring tools (PRTG SolarWinds Splunk) is essential. Experience managing large Microsoft 365 and Azure environments would be advantageous as would a solid grasp of infrastructure automation tools like Morpheus.
Security and networking are highly desirable areas with a working knowledge of firewalls VPNs SIEM tools and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
Beyond technical skills the role calls for strong leadership capabilities including team development project oversight vendor management and strategic input. The ideal candidate is proactive detail-oriented and adaptable with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
