Mainframe Engineer Hybrid (Riverdale MD)
Employer: Mfinite Consulting (Client: Private)
Location: Riverdale MD (Hybrid 2 days/week on-site)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Engineer with a strong background in COBOL CICS TSO and JCL to join our team in support of a public sector client. This role is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week on-site in Riverdale MD.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing maintaining and enhancing mainframe applications as well as troubleshooting and optimizing code to ensure efficient operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Design develop test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and CICS.

Write and manage JCL for batch job processing.

Troubleshoot and resolve application issues ensuring minimal downtime.

Optimize code for performance and reliability.

Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to meet project goals.

Perform additional duties as needed within the project scope.
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with COBOL CICS TSO and JCL.

Strong programming and debugging skills.

Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Ability to work on-site in Riverdale MD at least 2 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CA-IDEAL and CA Datacomm.

Background in higher education or government environments.
Contract Details

Length: 1-year contract renewable annually for up to 3 years.

Hours: 40 hours per week.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (on-site 2 days/week remote otherwise).
