Job Description:

The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position.

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Maintenance Operations Supervisor. This is a permanent full-time state position located at the Rees Training Center in Hermiston Oregon.

This position is classified as Management Service and is not represented by a union.

What You Will be Doing
Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities and maintenance employees on Rees Training Center as a working supervisor. Provide support of the Oregon Army National Guard and the Operations Branch of the Oregon Military Department. Ensure work is executed in accordance with State and Federal Laws regulations policies manuals and procedures and in accordance with existing codes.

Working Conditions
Exposed to loud noises; works from ladders and various types of lifting devises from heights. Exposed to unsanitary conditions. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Works in windy cold or inclement weather. Manual labor is required. Uses power tools; required to push pull and lift up to 50 LBS. May be required to travel using a State vehicle. Required to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment. Occasional work is required outside of normal duty hours to mitigate emergency situations. Required to bend stoop and stand for long periods of time.

What You Need to Qualify
Three (3) years of journey-level trade experience maintaining and repairing buildings physical plant facilities or grounds.

-AND-

One (1) additional year as a trades or maintenance supervisor.

Additional Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. (This position requires travel within the geographic boundaries of the assigned maintenance are).

To be Successful in this Position You Will Need

General computer navigation skills including Microsoft Word Excell Teams Outlook and Workday.

Conditions of Employment

Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination (T1). (Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment the circumstances involved in the conviction will be considered).


Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPMs Policies and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy.
