POSITION SUMMARY:
The Graphic Designer is a member of Kempers Creative Services team and is responsible for helping to define our visual brand and maximize audience engagement through visual design. This position will focus on applying best practices in user-centered design and production across various types of print and digital sales collateral. Strong layout design clean aesthetics solid production skills creative thinking and adherence to the Kemper brand are measures of success in the role. This position is a hybrid role working three days per week in our Chicago office.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply outstanding design layout and communication principles and superior aesthetics to all creative work while consistently observing a high-level of detail.
- Translate business needs into actionable creative solutions.
- Develop design projects from concept through production.
- Build production-ready files for print (four-color process digital spot).
- Comprehend and adhere to corporate brand guidelines in all facets of work act as a brand steward and educator.
- Collaborate with copywriters and marketing colleagues.
- Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions.
- Present creative concepts with POV to stakeholders.
- Synthesize input and feedback from Creative and Marketing team members into clear creative solutions.
- Apply empathy to understand and interpret unique end-user needs.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in graphic design or related discipline with minimum 3-5 years applicable experience.
- Expert knowledge using InDesign Illustrator Photoshop Acrobat Adobe XD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and with others on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment consistently meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
- Solid knowledge using project collaboration/workflow applications in a team environment (e.g. Basecamp Hive Wrike).
- Strong ability to influence; solid interpersonal and team collaboration skills; ability to cultivate strong working relationships with team members.
- Results-oriented strategic critical thinker.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to guide others and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Salesforce experience a plus.

- The range for this position is $77100 to $128500. When determining candidate offers we consider experience skills education certifications and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical Dental Vision PTO 401k etc.)
