Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) - Mt. Pleasant is one of six specialty wire cable and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America. *SHIFT: 10pm-8am M-F* Training will be on days 8am-4:30PM
Essential Duties:
- Continually strive to achieve continuous improvement in all activities processes and with all projects at Dekoron.
- Understands control panels and/or control knobs
- Can read and understand work order packets to determine customer/work order requirements
- Displays the ability to make Wire Armor and Strap Armor in-process repairs
- Demonstrate the ability to use mig & torch welders mechanical pressure welder and electronic welder.
- Ability to set up and operate a spark tester
- Ability to make Wire Armor and Strap Armor in process repairs
- Understand the proper way of using hoist when lifting/loading Strap Armor
- Demonstrate the ability to use mig & torch welder Strap Armor
- Demonstrate the ability to use Mechanical pressure welder Alum. Strap Armor
- Demonstrate the ability to use Electronic Welder Strap Armor/Wire Armor
- Understand the proper procedures for returning unused materials
- Understanding and knowledge of when to report unusual condition defective material or equipment to a supervisor in a timely manner.
- Has ability to pass a weld/repair certification
- Ability to follow correct procedures for the set-up and running of all types of armor including Gardex Strap and Wire.
- Work as a team with other Armor Operators and other Dekoron employees
- Promote safety in all processes and activities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to read and write clearly.
- Ability to read job specification
- Ability to organize works tasks efficiently.
- Ability to use basic machine tools.
- Ability to read the following in instruments is preferred Micrometers Calipers PI Tape.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
- Must be able to multi-task follow priorities given and have strong troubleshooting techniques.
- Self-starter: ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong housekeeping practices and organizational skills desired.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- High School education or equivalent is required; Technical training is preferred
- Licenses or certifications are not required for this position.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Indoors environmentally controlled
- Spend time using hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls
- Spend time standing as well as sitting bending squatting and reaching
- Use hands and arms in handling installing positioning and moving materials and manipulating things
- Wear common protective and safety equipment
- Spend time making repetitive motions
- Importance of being exact or accurate
- Communicate with supervisors peers or subordinates by telephone in written form email or in person.
- Lifting of at least 60 pounds throughout shift
