Product Technician
Illinois Foundation Seeds Inc. (IFSI) is an independent company delivering the leading research product development licensing and production for the seed industrys sweet corn and field crops.

General Purpose:
The Product Technician is expected to be a self-starter with a strong sense of this capacity you will be responsible for assisting in inventories receiving/ shipping orders harvesting conditioning treating and operating different equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented possess a background in seed production and demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage tasks.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with plant and packaging activities to assure standards and timelines are met for the following
- Inbred and Hybrid seed receiving conditioning packaging and distribution
- Inventory audits / discards
- Quality testing deadlines
- Treatment reporting and tracking
- Custom Condition Contracts
- Assist as needed with customer incoming/outgoing shipments
- Assist with conditioning treating re-bagging and warehousing of seed
- Production Facilities and Sites
- Assist as needed with buildings equipment and tool maintenance
- Assist as needed onsite upkeep of facility grounds and infrastructure
- Personnel Management
- Assist in managing seasonal and part-time labor
- Support and model a facility culture that meets or exceeds standards in the following:
- A team environment
- Goals and objectives
- Health and safety
- Stewardship
- Ability to work extended hours during seasonal peaks
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge Needed:
- Previous experience in seed production or related field High School diploma with 2 years of experience in the Seed/Agriculture industry
- General understanding of seed conditioning treating and packaging equipment
- Proficiency in gathering recording and reporting data
- Strong work ethic focused on productivity accuracy and timeliness
- Capable of working as a member of a team sharing responsibilities ideas inputs and coordinating for a meaningful and thorough outcome
- Attention to detail and accuracy in task execution
- Capable of differentiating information or materials that are confidential and sharing information appropriately within and outside the IFSI organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to obtain a pesticide license
- Experience operating farm equipment
- Ability to work outside in varying environments and heights
- Reliable transportation to jobsite
- Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed generally up to 75 lbs
- Stand walk and perform field-related tasks for extended periods
- Capable of working long hours/weekends during critical periods of season
Benefits:
- This position has an hourly pay range of $18.00 to $22.00 an hour.
- Additional compensation may include a bonus (if relevant)
- The pay range is merely and estimate and may vary based on market data/ranges an applicants skills and prior relevant experience certain degrees and certifications and other relevant factors.
- Additional benefits include health care vision dental life STD LTD retirement PTO etc

- This position reports to the Warehouse Lead
