CGS is seeking a full time independent contractor (1099) Diagnostic Radiologist at the Orlando VA Medical Center in Orlando FL. The Diagnostic Radiologist shall be responsible for providing body imaging or MSK Radiology reads including but not limited: CT Scans Ultrasounds General Radiology (plain films). This is a direct patient care role with minimal administrative duties supporting a collaborative environment where patient safety and clear communication with referring providers are prioritized.
Schedule/Hours
Mon-Fri 07:30am - 04:30pm excluding Federal Holidays no on-call coverage required.
Job Duties
- Perform diagnostic radiology reads for CT scans ultrasounds and plain films (general radiology) focused on body imaging or MSK specialties.
- Ensure timely presence for all scheduled clinics and appointments.
- Communicate test results to patients and referring providers in accordance with VHA Directive 1088.
- Provide consultation and guidance to referring physicians on the appropriate use of radiologic procedures.
- Coordinate with clinicians to determine the most effective imaging strategies and follow-up care.
- Follow established VA policies regarding medication management (no sample medications).
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions especially for emergency department patients.
- Adhere to VA patient safety and infection control procedures and promptly report any incidents through the VA Patient Safety Reporting System within 24 hours.
- Ensure compliance with ACR guidelines including for Mammography if applicable.
Qualifications :
- Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiology Physician Services (body imaging MSK or Neuro qualified) with minimum three (3) years of continuous experience within the last ten (10) years.
- Fellowship trained in either body imaging MSK Radiology or Neuroradiology Physician Services.
- Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology ( All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
- License: Valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.
- Meet all VA educational and mandatory course requirements.
- License: Mammography required.
- Standard infection control measures including proof of immunizations.
- BLS Certification.
- Ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
- Must be a U.S. citizen permanent resident or otherwise legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon compliance with federal regulations including E-Verify.
