As Chief Accountant for the US you will be responsible for all financial and accounting operations of the US entities ensuring compliance with Group standards and supporting strategic financial initiatives.
You will manage reporting controls processes and a small team while working closely with the Group CFO and the broader international finance community.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger monthly closings intercompany transactions and revenue recognition.
Produce timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
Manage cash flow forecasting and daily treasury operations.
Lead invoicing receivables and payables processes.
Coordinate payroll in collaboration with HR and external providers.
Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
Optimize accounting systems and processes including use of SAGE and other tools.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff promoting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Administration and oversight of the 401K plan which includes reporting and audit responsibilities.
Accounting and management of the real estate companies including filing county and state level reports.
Managing the insurance portfolio (workers comp general liability and property) and ensuring sufficient coverage for current and future revenue streams and activities.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
Prior experience as a Chief Accountant or equivalent leadership role in accounting.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and exposure to IFRS.
Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
At least 5 years of experience in audit ideally within a Big Four or equivalent.
Ability to manage multiple entities and work under pressure.
Experience with accounting systems (SAGE is a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
Team player with strong initiative and attention to detail.
