Job Description

Your role at St John of God HealthCare

Located in our modern Kings Square Office in the heart of Perths CBD we are seeking an experienced and strategic Risk and Compliance Manager to join us in a permanent full-time capacity. You will support St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) in achieving its operational objectives through strong risk management and compliance leadership while contributing to the design and implementation of robust enterprise risk and compliance frameworks across the organisation ensuring they are aligned with the Boards risk appetite and organisational priorities.

As a key leader in the second line of defence you will provide guidance and support to business units to ensure risk and compliance obligations are identified managed and embedded effectively. You will play a central role in delivering enterprise-wide programs that assess the effectiveness of our risk management compliance privacy insurance resilience governance and whistleblowing processes.

The Position

  • Partnering with SJGHC Clinical Risk teams to ensure appropriate linkages between SJGHCs clinical governance framework and SJGHCs overarching ERM and Group compliance frameworks;

  • Supporting caregivers to improve their understanding of SJGHCs ERM and compliance frameworks through the delivery of training sessions; and

  • Supporting the development of quality ERM and Group compliance reports and insights to the SJGHC Executive Committee (ExCom) Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and SJGHC Board (Board).

  • Ongoing support to the continuous improvement and maintenance of a robust and effective risk management and compliance frameworks

  • Maintain and enhance SJGHCs ERM and Group compliance frameworks including assisting in its implementation monitoring and revision and its integration.

  • Lead risk assessment workshops and identify the operational and strategic risks at both an organisational and divisional level and related controls strategies and treatment plans.

  • Lead compliance review workshops and identify compliance vulnerabilities and/or failures and work with relevant obligation owners to develop/implement corrective action plans controls and remediation strategies.

  • Assess the adequacy of identified compliance plans and provide feedback and comments to obligation owners.

  • Identify opportunities to establish consistency in compliance plans by adoption of Group-level approaches to common obligations and liaise with obligation owners to implement recommendations.

  • Facilitate reviews and updates to Divisional compliance registers.

  • Liaise with sponsors and external service providers to ensure delivery of the Internal Audit annual plan to budget and schedule.

  • Prepare draft reporting for submission to the SJGHC Executive Committee (ExCom) Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and SJGHC Board (Board).as well as ad hoc reviews and updates as and when required e.g. for nominated major projects and new divisions.

  • Engage across SJGHC to ensure that the ERM and Group compliance framework is adequately promoted maintained and supported throughout the organisation including training delivery to the divisions to assist in the embedment of a strong risk and compliance culture and understanding.

  • Provide quality assurance review of finalised content for Divisional risk and compliance registers.

Position Requirements

We are looking for a team-focused self-driven individual with previous experience in risk management compliance assurance or audit (ideally within the health sector). You will bring a pragmatic approach strong initiative and a commercial mindset with a passion for driving positive change. Demonstrated experience and expertise in Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) frameworks policies strategies and tools is essential.

The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with influence and consult across a broad range of stakeholders including executive leadership. You will be highly organised capable of managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within required timeframes. A collaborative approach well-developed consultation abilities and a commitment to transparent decision-making will be key to your success in this role.

  • Salary: $154169 to $171339 per annum plus 12% superannuation

  • Permanent full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight
