Freelance Lead Digital Workplace Engineer
Belgium hybrid asap start
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Freelance Lead Digital Workplace Engineer to develop and lead strategies design and implementation of a modern Digital Workplace. You will work closely with C-level stakeholders manage internal IT services coordinate external suppliers and drive user-centric digital transformation initiatives across collaboration tools end-user computing and networking environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership:
- Define and implement the digital workplace strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering scalable and secure digital workplace solutions
- Design & Implementation:
- Architect and oversee the rollout of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools including Teams SharePoint and OneDrive
- Drive integration of end-user devices (laptops mobile devices peripherals) and ensure seamless user experience
- Implement and manage modern endpoint management solutions (e.g. Intune SCCM)
- Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with C-level stakeholders to gather requirements provide updates and align on strategic direction
- Translate business needs into technical solutions that deliver value
- Supplier & Contract Management:
- Manage external IT partners and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Lead or support contract negotiations and service level agreement (SLA) discussions
- Operational Excellence:
- Manage internal digital workplace services ensuring performance security and compliance
- Monitor and support network infrastructure in collaboration with the network engineering team
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (5 years) in leading Digital Workplace initiatives in mid to large-scale environments
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 collaboration suite (Teams SharePoint OneDrive Exchange Online)
- Strong experience with endpoint management (e.g. Microsoft Intune SCCM) and device lifecycle management
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and dependencies in digital workplace environments
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement including executive-level communication
- Experience managing third-party vendors and IT contracts
- Familiarity with hybrid working environments remote support and security best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop or similar
- Bilingual: English French or Dutch
Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
