Medtronics CRDN team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Sustaining Engineer to support the G3 Symplicity Spyral this role you will focus on sustaining the product lifecycle of this cutting-edge medical device ensuring its reliability compliance and performance in the field. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design and manufacturing challenges enabling the continued success of this innovative technology that transforms patient care.

This position is in Mounds View MN. within the Coronary & Renal Denervation (CRDN) operating unit. We are working on-site 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

A Day in the Life

In general the following responsibilities apply for the Sustaining Electrical Engineer II role. This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Product Support:Act as the technical expert for theG3 Symplicity Spyral Generator addressing field and manufacturing issues to ensure product design requirement compliance and performance.
  • Troubleshooting:Investigate and resolve electrical and system-level issues perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Component Validation:Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to validate and qualify new components or design changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with R&D manufacturing quality and regulatory teams to address challenges and ensure smooth product lifecycle management.
  • Compliance:Ensure product compliance with regulatory and quality standards including IEC 60601 and FDA requirements.
  • Documentation:Maintain technical documentation including schematics test protocols validation reports and risk management files.

Qualifications

Must Have - Minimum Requirements

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

  • Bachelors degree required in Electrical Engineering Engineering or a technical discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years of technical experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years technical experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the design development and testing of electromechanical medical devices embedded systems troubleshooting and familiarity with IEC 60601 RoHS REACH ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 standards.

  • Hands-on experience in electronic prototyping (e.g. rapid PCB design and testing) and be proficient with design software such as Mentor Graphics PADS Suite Cadence or Altium.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles medical device regulations requirements management and experience with Agile Development and project management tools such as Codebeamer Atlassian Toolkit or Jira.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork complemented by excellent written and verbal communication judgment decision-making and critical thinking abilities.

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab Design Expert or JMP.

  • Experience or Proficiency with the following tool sets: Oracle Agile PLM Codebeamer Altium Cadence Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$84800.00 - $127200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20 hours per week: Health Dental and vision insuranceHealth Savings AccountHealthcare Flexible Spending AccountLife insurance Long-term disability leaveDependent daycare spending accountTuition assistance/reimbursement andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
